Dismantling Bias, Empowering Mothers, Fostering Equity
Transforming care and community
Edith Institute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2020, is on a mission to cultivate a world brimming with inclusivity and equity. We recognize the detrimental effects of implicit bias, particularly in the realm of black maternal health.
Guided by a dedicated volunteer Executive Board of Directors, Edith Institute is steadfast in its pursuit of impactful work. We strive to empower mothers, dismantle racial injustice, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity and equity that radiates far beyond the walls of our organization.

Our Story
Established in 2020 with three co-founders, Edith Institute was founded by Dr. Ardythe Morrow, who introduced the institute’s vision to honor the legacy of Edith Luxion, focusing on educating children to appreciate diversity. Alicia Suguitan joined in fall 2020 to develop technology-based education and guide the implementation of this vision.
Originating from the nurturing spirit at Edith Institute’s inception, various initiatives are overseen to foster a sense of community among individuals from diverse backgrounds. This community-building extends beyond conventional themes.
Since its inception, Edith Institute has remained committed to working collaboratively with those ready to transform their perspective on race and motherhood. The institute strives to cultivate inclusive spaces where every individual is valued, achieved through the sharing of stories and comprehensive training programs. The goal is to foster progress through transformed thinking within all facets of our diverse community.
