Understanding Population Differences in Maternal Health Outcomes

The Mama We See

At the Edith Institute, we are passionately dedicated to improving maternal health, particularly for people of color. Our mission is inspired by the memory of Edith and our vision for a better world where every mother receives the care and support she deserves.

While many efforts focus on educating mothers and ensuring the health of their children – which are undoubtedly crucial – we believe that the health of the mother, both physically and mentally, must also be a top priority. In any doctor-patient relationship, the patient is only one part of the equation. That's why we concentrate on providing evidence-based bias-disrupting education for the other half of that relationship: the healthcare provider.

Our approach is centered on leveraging the passion, experience, and skills of our co-founders, board, and staff to enhance the education and training of healthcare providers. We understand that every provider strives to deliver the best care for their patients, and we believe that equipping them with the tools to disrupt bias and provide equitable care is essential in achieving this goal.
Join us in our mission to create a healthcare system where every mother receives the respect, support, and quality care she deserves. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in maternal health outcomes and build a healthier, more equitable future for all.
