Dr. Molly Carey
Dr. Molly Carey is a practicing OBGYN physician and Assistant Professor at UC Health. She earned her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residences at the University of Texas and Brown University. She has conducted research in a variety of women's health areas, including understanding pain in routine gynecological procedures.
Dr. Carey brings her expertise in centering women's experiences in their own medical care to Edith Institute's work in understanding and improving Black women's maternal health.

Dr. Calisha Brooks
Dr. Calisha Brooks is a clincial psychologist, Detroit native, Fisk University alum, and a champion for Black Mental Health. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Tennessee State University, and received her training from the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt she conducted research on race-based stress and trauma and developed a screener that aids clinicians in identifying racial trauma in people of color.
Dr. Brooks brings her expertise in race-based stress in trauma to Edith Institute's work in building supporting research methods for centering Black mothers and improving Black maternal health.

Dr. Na Lor
Dr. Na Lor is an assistant professor of sociology and education in the Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she teaches mixed methods, activity theory, and sociology of higher education.
Dr. Lor brings her expertise in mixed methods research to Edith Institute's work in building robust research methods for understanding and improving maternal healthcare for Black mothers.
