Black Mamas & Healthcare

We all have unconscious biases, snap judgments that can affect our actions. In healthcare, this can be dangerous, especially for Black mothers.

Imagine this: A Black mama voices her concerns, but the doctor dismisses them. Maybe a stereotype clouds their judgment. This is implicit bias in action.

The result? Undertreated pain, missed diagnoses, and worse health outcomes. Black women in the US are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy complications.

We can change this. By recognizing implicit bias, healthcare providers can offer better care. Open communication helps too.

Let's break down barriers, not bodies.
