Make Your Mark

Black women deserve healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries. But the reality is, Black mothers in the US face significantly higher risks of complications and death compared to white women. This disparity is unacceptable. Here's how you, as a non-Black ally, can make a difference:

Educate Yourself:

  • Dive deep: Understand the root causes of racial disparities in maternal health.

  • Listen to Black voices: Seek out stories and experiences of Black mothers to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face.

Amplify the Movement:

  • Spread awareness: Share articles, documentaries, and social media posts highlighting the issue.

  • Advocate for change: Support policies that address implicit bias in healthcare and promote equitable access to quality care for all mothers.

Empower Black Women:

  • Support Black-led organizations: Donate or volunteer your time to groups fighting for Black maternal health equity.

  • Challenge bias: When you witness stereotypes or assumptions about Black women's health, speak up and challenge them respectfully.

Together, we can create a healthcare system where all mothers, regardless of race, receive the respect and care they deserve.

Bonus Tip: Encourage your friends and family to join the fight! The more voices raised, the greater the impact
